Sitting just north of Oxford Street in London’s West End, one would expect Marylebone to be noisy hectic place to live. While it’s no country hamlet, the back streets are quiet with a distinctly villagey feel. Most of the area is residential and the properties and shops are varied. Marylebone High Street has emerged a heaven for foodies, containing many luxurious and specialist food shops and eateries. The area has a large Arab community and this is reflected in various specialist food and clothing shops, particularly on the Edgware Road, however there is also a large mix of students and other communities. Though walking distance from the busy West End, the neighbourhood is easy walking distance from Hyde Park and the edge of Marylebone brushes the beautiful Regent’s Park. In fact some say Regent’s Park is actually in Marylebone as its boundaries are unclear. Marylebone offers residents the convenience of urban living with access to excellent transport links, green spaces and relative peace. Unsurprisingly, property prices reflect these benefits.
